EEEEOOOOOO!

Now THAT'S gross!  This picture is actually after 10 days of healing.  At least I didn't put on a really gross picture of it right after it happened.  On the 7th, the "boys" were out doing some clean up and Shaun asked Callen to pull the van forward.  When he got out, he shut his right pinkie finger in the door WITH his work gloves on.  He yanked his finger back, but the glove stayed in the door.  His nail was still attached at the end just fine, but it had ripped the entire nail bed up and out, and laid it on top of his finger.  ICK!  The doc had to CUT the rest of the nail off.  They numbed it, of course, and Callen watched the whole procedure.  They did have to put 3 stitches in to stop the bleeding, and Callen had a hard time watching the needle go into his flesh, but otherwise he watched the whole time.  He wanted to keep the nail, so the doctor put it in a little bottle of saline and Callen took his prize back to school to show off.  I suggested he not try to impress the girls with it.  The poor thing is taking forever to heal, and we think his bone tip must be fractured, so trying to keep a splint on this finger has been near impossible.  Callen was so mad at me 3 days after he did this because I wouldn't let him stay and play basketball with the young men.  That about sums up how this whole "healing" process has proceeded ever since.  POOR KID!
